I've been informed that I need more equipment to achieve the detail I want in macro.

Caterpillar on reverse of loquat leaf. G15 outdoors with no extra gadgets. AE mode, macro setting, exp 1/60, f7.1, ISO (auto) 320, focal length 6.1 mm, size "Fine," flash off, WB Cloudy. Cropped to 700 x 525; original was 2992 x 2992. A little PP using Preview.

First shot with the G15... Nothing special... Nonetheless, the first actuation with this camera...

Will have more opportunities in the near future since I invested in the filter adapter and 58mm step ring... This will enable the G15 to hold my Cokin Z Pro filter system!!! Can't wait to see what it can produce!!! Now to look for an L-Bracket for it...

:D

Nice to see the small sensor G-series cameras with a fast lens again (I think that the G5 was the last before this one). The images from it look really good.

Absolutely fascinating!
Whatever works. There's something special about the community of photographers here. You all have so much skill.
You can take memorable photographs with pin-hole cameras, and iPhones! So many gravitate to Canon's G series cameras. (I miss mine.)
I love seeing your work.

Thank you. The camera is really sweet. I pretty much use it as a camcorder and since my wife's S95 died it comes in handy.
