Nothing too special here, but I wanted to share this for anyone who is thinking on buying some studio equipment. I finally bought the B&H Impact flash umbrella setup (external link) (which seems to have gone on sale since I bought it a few days ago) and a 2nd 430EXII flash. This was my first test of the umbrellas, and I'm very happy with the results. This shot of the Ganesh statue is straight out of the camera. I took a few shots to get it right, dialing in the reflected umbrella to reduce the back shadow. Point is that it is really fun doing this and the trial and error method seems to work so far, but I have a lot of learning to do. I am going to be shooting my friend's wedding this summer, so I hope to have a lot of friends pose for me while I figure out how to properly use the setup.

Our granddaughter was just starting to scoot along the floor so I laid down on the floor to get some pictures. She started crawling toward the camera and I kept taking photos. Our two grandboys wanted to get into the act so they piled on. My daughter took a photo of me on the floor:

The first shot is an awesome moment. Reminds me of my father in law with my 2 girls and my niece. That's a keeper.

Setup, just a practice for daughter portraits, in a very small living room, 430 ii ex via 60d wireless system shot through the umbrella, left jessops on manual in home made softbox activated by 430 flash. Shot at 5.6,125th and 70-200l.

Nice work Danny. How is the umbrella held to the Manfrotto ball head?

My homemade lightbox with four foam poster boards and one paper poster board. I used one on camera flash, two off camera flashes, and a lightbox lamp to light the subjects. I used the paper board to bounce the one off camera flash into the box.

Nice work airbutchie - just one concern; are you sure the tripod and head can handle the G15?
