I should have ordered when I saw it on sale a few weeks ago linked from Syl Arena's website.
The reviews were not so hot on Amazon.
Nnot very sturdy.
But Syl said it was his new favorite for the light.
Some folks said don't take it outside.
It sounds like an awesome softbox though.
I still want it though if it can be had for $100 though.

Keep checking the price at B&H they adjust prices a lot. I wouldn't be surprised to see the $99 price again before Christmas.

How different is the light output between the Apollo Orb and those Octabox 32" for speedlight being sold on ebay like the one on this link http://www.ebay.com …_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 (external link)

I got the Orb today. This thing delivers the goods! The diffuser panel doesn't look like much, but produces a huge swath of evenly dispersed light. The 7D's wireless pop-up master worked great even behind and to the side of the Orb. I bought the Orb to learn how to use a soft box, I think it will do fine for that.

Received the orb kit today (Only took 6 days to hit my doorstep in South Australia).
Very happy with the size and build of the entire kit. The stand and adapter were a bonus at this price but the entire kit is quite sturdy. I received my order of Yongnuo YN-622C flash triggers two hours later by chance.. I love the ability to change the flash settings without having to open up the orb.

7D, 50mm 1.8, 580EXII inside Orb triggered by 622C:
