I can't recall if I posted this one before. Shot at f1.4 in the studio with a 3-stop ND filter and overhead gridded softbox and strobe.

So Manav . . . you're farther down the path that I've just begun . . . I love my 600EX-RTs (3) for interiors, but am chomping at the bit for Wide Open + ND + Strobe capability. I have a Tiffen Vari ND but am stuck on how much strobe is really necessary . . . would you ever recommend just one Einstein, or do you find that you're usually glad to have two on a shoot?

I normally take 2 einsteins with me. Not because one of them can't overpower the sun, but because sometimes I use one as main light and the other as fill light, and then use 3rd light (sun) as hair/rim light.

One einstein can overpower the sun with the right reflector. Any high output reflector like a beauty dish, a silver PLM, or the standard PCB 8.5inch or 11inch reflector will be able to overpower the sun with just one strobe. However you may struggle to overpower the sun properly with a large soft box type of a modifier.
