From back when I had my first 5D, taken with a 50mm f/1.4.
From the moment I sold it, I knew I had to get one in the future, and here I am with another 5D just last week. :)

Hi, Keith, congratulations on your purchase of the "pancake" lens. I got mine a couple of months ago, and it is a great lens. Here are 2 images from earlier today. We are still in Autumn here in New Orleans, with Winter (such as it is!) coming, but the flowers are still nice.
Have fun, Joe

@ Jake - I have two of those, but mine have a black plastic tip on the film advance lever; does that make them the FTbN?

I've been considering buying a 5D and have heard about this issue with the mirror. Is there any way to tell if the mirror has been upgraded by Canon? Is Canon doing the repair for free if you send them the body?

You can usually tell if it had the mirror fix performed, http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/840032 (external link).

Also, the repair is free and comes with a free cleaning.

The repair is free and they are still doing it without any quibble as I had mine done last week. Unfortunately you can't count on them cleaning the sensor unprompted. Because I wanted the sensor cleaned and it affected my decision to have the mirror fix done I didn't mention it to them. I was very disappointed to find every speck of dust exactly where I had left it. My sensor is absolutely filthy and I'm inconsolable. I'm sure if I had said something or enquired in a round about way, I would now have a pristine sensor. :(

Yes. It makes it a 1973 or later model. I have a pre-1973 in perfect condition that I absolutely love. From what I've heard the FTb was a gem among photogs, similar to the 5Dc.
