Well, I got mine from B&H about 2 weeks ago, but I paid $2099............ :(

I am glad I had it because of the 2 events I have used it at, but $200 does sting a little.

Based on last years January price raises by Canon, I'm guessing their rebate on lenses and cameras will precede another raise. The extra $100 by retailers is to move the inventory out the door.

I pulled the trigger for a 5D3 less than a month ago. It'll be a while before my credit card stops screaming. Perhaps next year, I can afford a big white one. But then, I don't like being that conspicuous either. All my Ls are black.

Ordered! This is my first professional lens and also my first new lens (besides the kit lens). I primarily take photos of my dogs running and I've learned that I need a faster lens to keep up with the dogs. Thanks for posting this deal. It helped ease a little bit of the pain.

You'll love the lens. You may also need a faster AFing body too.

You'll love it, I just got mine today.

I took this several years ago with the 70-200 f2.8 NON-IS and a 10D, you should expect better results with this newer model.
