The Gorgeous Blue Mountains

When I was younger i did tons of hiking, abseiling, climbing, canyoning etc up around the Blue Mountains, but havnt been back for years now. Up here now for a couple of days, and these are from a walk around Wentworth Falls yesterday.

Lightly processed today (LR only) as its pretty miserable outside today, and having a rest day.

It is a truly wonderous place. It has been a while since I have been down there but looking at these brings the memories flooding back. Thanks for posting.

You guys in Australia kill me.... You could blindfold yourselves and paint a picture left-handed with Crayola's, and it'd be fantastic.

For C&C, I think the skies are somewhat overprocessed. I've done this myself quite a bit, actually, when you're looking to bring out the clouds. Too much sharpness and too much saturation in #1 and Govett's Leap. #2 seems overprocessed, but is a wonderful picture and I wouldn't change a thing.

You totally nailed the Three Sisters in Fog and that last pano image. The difference in processing seems to be due to the lighting at the time the image was taken, which was perfect for the last pano.

Yeah, im currently just processing the entire image as one with LR4, so the sky gets the same treatment as the ground. I guess i could counteract the global processing with a mask, but I havnt played with them yet, so im not sure what results i would get.

Some of the oversaturation could be from the sky being darkened through the GradND, and then bumped in saturation but not luminance.

All things to experiment with for future landscapes.

That's some pretty spectacular scenery! Will have to research that area, as I plan to return to Australia for a 30 day holiday in 2014.

While we were at that last location for the sunset i took a TL on the 550D at the same time. Here it is, couple of little flickers, but pretty decent for just the inbuilt MagicLantern bulb ramping.
