I love how taped up your cameras are. How is the 1D Mark 2n? I've shot with the 1D2, and am itching for another one. Is the N version worth it over the 1d2?

Congrats! How are you liking it? Also (and I'm NOT trolling, I'm honestly curious)...a week ago you said you were done with DSLRs...what changed your mind?

Thanks! :)I'm loving it so far. AF is real good! I mean...REAL good! I know what I said before but, the current price drop on the 5D 3 made it difficult to not pass up! I couldn't resist.:o

Face it...you're an addict! Welcome to the group...have a seat, after the meeting we'll have juice and cookies ;)

You've had 1D cameras in the past...for everyday use (real-world "all intents and purposes")...is the 5D3's AF up to 1D standards?

I'm loving it so far. It'll be my secondary body as my 1D3 is my main work horse but it definitely does the job well. There should be no reason why to not invest in one especially if you can get one in good condition at a killer price.

I've never shot with the 1D2 but the differences aren't much . Slightly bigger screen, some different picture styles. slightly higher continues RAW shooting and the fact it is still serviced by CPS. If those are big enough differences then heck why not!

;) I've yet to test the AF outdoors but, so far it's been consistent. I did notice the AF struggle a bit in low contrast light but, it locks no matter what you throw at it. Testing AF for me is always with the 85 L. We know that it takes a bit of effort for that lens to focus but, it passed my challenge. If you decide to move up to the 5D3 and want better performance, this is it. :)

Fair Enough but i don't see any reason to Tape up the Camera. I know this has been hammered over and over again. But i just don't get it. There going to know its a Canon just by looking at it. Especially with a Red Ring Lens.

That's awesome to hear, but nah, I'm perfectly happy with my 5D2...the AF has never let me down. I mainly shoot static stuff, so I don't need the better AF, at least not enough to justify the price.

However, I did enjoy the 1D3's focus when I had it. Any AF point, any time of the day or night, anything you pointed it at...it just locked focus. Every single time.

Well, you don't need to get it. As long as someone is not gaffing up your Canon, you should be alright?

I have my reasons to do so and so do others. You and others have a reason not to do so. Simple as that.

Okay...I'll bite. What are your reasons? I'm honestly curious...

Personal preference.

Please don't tell me this is going to be a one page thread on justifying the use tape .....
