it's not too bad. the permit lasts for a year at least. And you only need it if you're photographing someone there...I believe.

Nice shots with the 6D. The shallow DOF looks great on the 2nd and 4th pictures. That looks like a great place to shoot, too.

Got a new 5D Mark III right before Christmas. I'm really having fun playing with it:

OK, Brian I gotta ask . . .

I hear/see a lot of people talk about "if only I had a full frame sensor" or "I can't wait to upgrade to a full frame sensor" etc. and I just don't get it.

I have a crop sensor body and also a 5D mk III and yes, there are some slight differences but I don't see it as some huge game-changing difference.

I understand you are not saying there is some big difference, and it is my understanding that you were using a 5D mk II so I'm just wondering what you see as the differences between the two bodies?

I'm sure there are people out there that can spell out the huge difference in sensor size, file size, pixel density and dynamic range as well as high ISO performance, but I just don't see it as some massive difference.

I guess I should add a photo or two to keep on topic

Just wondering what your opinion is?

Doug,

I was asking a 5dc, not the mark 2. Before that was a 20d.

Image differences between any of the bodies isn't that great. There seems a bit more color range to work with, and less red bias in the mark3. The real benefit is the autofocus and larger LCD. The above image isn't sharpened at all. The 5dc would always back focus and I had to sharpen a lot to make the eyes sharp.

One of the benefits I find to full frame is greater control over reducing the depth of field.
