I had a fun week with two nights of fire dance at Palace of Fine Arts on Wednesday and Thursday in San Francisco. I like taking pictures of the performers as it is a real challenge to capture the fire properly and I learn every time.

I love the lighting on her face in #4. It looks like the flames were pretty bright to be hitting such fast shutter speeds.

And yes it is a challenge to hit the right light. I find the most of my pics at ISO 6400 are too bright if it is right after the performer have light the fire, the intensity is so much higher. So 1600 or 3200 are normally best. Sometimes all the way down to 800 works.
