Any chance you could record a video of your attempts, then post to youtube? Seems that we're a tad blind as to what is going on. A very detailed walk through, including the equipment and its settings, could help. (Also a good way to help you spot errors on your own. Excellent problem solving tool.)

OK. At this point I would suggest looking into connection problems. Take a picture in manual mode with out out flash but properly exposed. Then add the flash with the same manual settings on the camera. Do your exposures change? If so I would make sure you have the right cord or if you have a broken cable. If you have a multi meter, olm out the pins.

Here is the pic, but when I downloaded it to my picasa the raw file was fine but the jpg looks like the pic as well as on my camera lcd. Very strange. It's the first pic, I don't know why those other pics are there, photobucket change since the last time I used it.

I am not familiar with the camera settings but if your raw is fine then check picture settings for JPG, I would take a picture in raw the a jpg.
