I was going back and forth between this and the 200mm f/2.8 II USM... Yesterday, I decided to take the plunge and order one from Amazon. It's currently at $579, shipping from Amazon, with FREE ONE-DAY SHIPPING. Less than 24 hours from when I ordered it, it arrived at my work, for only $579. Thought I'd pass this along to anyone who's on the fence. Hopefully I'll have some nice images to post here from my upcoming shoot this weekend. :-)

I ordered through Adorama at the same price but shipping 3 days was $6. Looks like we ordered too soon because now Amazon has it for $559 with 2% back

regardless I think we both got it for a good deal but this one just happens to be a little better: http://www.amazon.com …e=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER (external link)

Congrats! Look forward to seeing through your lens.

Update I just called amazon. And I was able to get them to do a one time courtesy credit for the 10% disc! Icing on the cake :)

$559 - $55 (10%) - $24 (Discover reward) - $28 (5% CB) = $452 wow and to think I almost bought a used one on CL for $500.

First shot with my little brother. The sun had set so I had to pop some flash but we found a really cool mural by Shepard Fairey in downtown Pittsburgh to break this in.

These new prices are awesome. I bought mine for over $700 a couple of years ago. It was a bargain at that price, so its a steal at these new prices.

Not sure if you guys saw the newegg 20% discount on the F4 IS, but it has me contemplating whether to go upgrade to the F4 IS. if I already have a 24-70 that I could use in low light/indoors would getting the F4 w/ IS even be necessary?

I had originally purchased the non-is from amazon 3 days with plans to use outdoors, son and portraits.

Any feedback would be great. thank you!

How are your hands? I don't use any special technique, but find I can generally count on 1/100 of a second at 200mm, and have gone much lower. For me personally, the lack of IS hasn't been a problem at all on this lens, but I never use it indoors. BTW, for some reason, I can't shoot lower speeds with my 135. I generally keep that one about 1/170 or even higher. I don't know why that is.
