Very nice!

I have been trying to capture a sunrise like this, but mine never seem to work out. Do you mind sharing your set up? Tripod? Lens?

Sunrise shot from today. Very strange to see the sky on fire like this especially on 12-21-12. :)

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I took basically the same photo around the same time today of the same clouds. In the same city. But on my phone.

Hey neighbor! It was quite a sunrise wasn't it?

Thank you! No tripod used. Lens used was canon 35L f1.4. Settings were f5.6 at 1/40sec at ISO100. I think I used -1EC so I wouldn't blow out the sky and lose the color. Minor processing in LR4.

Ha-ha! Thanks for the tip Lou - think I know what you are talking about - I'll try to remember that one.

Here's a few salmon fly shots (not tied by me, but I did the photography for a magazine article for the tier)...

Wow. You really capitalized on the beauty of fishing flies. Usually, it's the people who make them that only get to see them in this way. Nice work! :)
