The clouds looked promising yesterday so I suffered through the holiday-induced 40 minute drive to downtown (I live like a mile away...walking would have been quicker) and finally found parking 10 minutes before the sky put on quite a show. I was hoping for a super contrasy B/W but am happy with what I got. Winter sunsets in Seattle can really be something else. Enjoy!

1) A few birds enjoying the view before the real color started

2) One minute exposure. Its pretty neat to see the clouds moving in different directions depending on their altitude.

Awesome! I take so much for granted in this city. You've inspired me to give something like this a go. :)

Nice shot! I have a similar one from a few years back. It is a really neat place!

Thanks for the comments guys! Seattle is a fun place to shoot and I'm lucky to live so close.

Wow! Stunning shots! Makes me wish I'd taken a real camera to Seattle when I visited the states (and had your kinda skills!)

Very nice. Much better than my mid morning pics there. I wished I lived close just to shop there for dinner.

Very nice shots. I have several but they are all from wonderfully gray Seattle days. You hit it right on the clouds and coloring.

I swear Pike Place is much more of a tourist place than a legitimate place to get quality food. I saw that the fish had "previously frozen" signs last time I was down there and I'm pretty sure the salmon has color added as well. Even with easy access to this market, I still buy my fish from Costco :)

great shots from my old city. I do miss it at times, but this time of year, not so much!
