I hope it's ok to post in this thread, I will be in the pelham/birmingham area this next week and was looking for some good areas for photos (landscape mostly). I couldn't find much on google except sloss furnaces. Any tips on places would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Oak Mtn has a few interesting views. You might find Morris Ave. downtown Bham interesting. Its an old cobble stone like street with lots of old buildings. There is Vulcan park as well. I could suggest some other places but they are further out from the area you mentioned.

Hey there ihswinney...i'm just a little south of you in millbrook, alabama. I see that you're also a motorcycle rider like myself. I've been trying to combine my riding with my photography but it's been way to hot lately! I'm always looking for new interesting places to shoot, so give me a holler if you know any. Besides, I'm usually up for a ride if the wife doesn't have a long honey-doo list for me! Here's a pic I took just north of you at Tannehill State Park.

I just moved to Madison Alabama from Kentucky. I am very happy to see that so many POTN'ers live in Alabama. I would love to meet up and shoot or just hang out with some fellow photogs. I am missing my Kentucky friends and feeling a little isolated so ya'll give me a shout if you want to get together some time.

High folks. I'm a Birminghamian. I live in the 280/Greystone area right now, and have lived in this valley for most of my life. Looking to find some folks to shoot with on occasion, since the wife works weekends and I end up bored out of my mind. I will most likely need some pointers on the 5d I'll be purchasing with my Christmas loot, since my T2i probably hasn't prepared me so well for the jump. I like landscapes, abstracts, and would like to try my had at street/architecture and portraits. If anyone knows of any photo clubs in town or would just like to go hang out and shoot, then by all means hit me up sometime. I don't post in the forums very often, but I do try at least once a day to absorb some of the fine knowledge you folks are handing out. Merry Christmas to all!

I've been living in Montgomery for the past few months. I like it okay. Always happy to meet up with other photographers.

I just moved back to the Birmingham area.

It's kind of sad to see the Alabama members thread so dead. Hopefully this post will revive it.

First time I've seen this thread. I'm here in Montgomery and shoot mostly outdoor and events.Still work full time so don't have as much time as I would like. Looking forward to the fall and the challenge of finding some color here in AL.
