I like this one, taken in Galveston harbor last March. The colors of the pelican are echoed in the old sailing ship in the background.

Terrific photos!
I'm going with my kingfisher in flight. My house backs to a pond and while I don't know the cause, but the pond changed this summer and we started getting different species over the summer. Lack of rain tightening the feeding areas? Not sure, but sure enjoyed all of the new guests.

I've created many images in 2012 but this specie was high on my list and I finally got the chance to get them up close and personal. I created a new threat with few others if you guys want to check them out.

Thanks for creating this. Wonderful images!!

There are some amazing images in this thread--starting with the very first one. I'm posting my Puffin shot mainly because it's a bit out of the ordinary.

That's one of the things I also like about your beautiful shot. What was the lens?

Thanks. I used the 100-400L, standing on the deck of a cruise ship about to sail to the Yucatan.

Tough call, but I think I'd have to go with this Wilson's Snipe I caught back in July.
