Nice! I had an order with them but their status went from "expect in a few days" until "no idea" so that scared me off a bit and bought mine through 47th... Not like it matters much though. I would have saved another $20 with Adorama though, with Mr. Rebates 3% plus the 2% store rebate and 5% discover rebate. I just could not risk getting it in time for my trip next week!

Yup, I need to get myself a discover card, I used a Chase Freedom but I only get 1% from that. But with the Mr Rebates+Store Credit+free extras you can't go wrong!

For sure! My final price came out to $854 shipped to my door with the 5% cashback...

With Adorama it would have cost me $899 minus the 5% Discover and 3% Mr Rebates... So $827, but since I would pay the $10 or so for normal shipping with Adorama about $837... So approx. $20 I would have saved, not including the 2% in-store credit which would probably just cost me more in the long run lol... So that is probably better off that I don't have excuse to buy more

I miss the days of Mr. Rebates stacked with the 8% eBay Bing deals though... That was awesome..!

Ugh looks like my lens *might* be delayed due to the storm in the northeast... Although around NY/NJ they just got rain, it took away my delivery estimated day of Friday and said adverse weather conditions... But it is still en-route and still may come on time. It left NJ at like 3am for Ohio and appears it should arrive... Hopefully... I don't want to wait until Monday! It was originally set for Friday, and it has not changed officially yet, just removed the end of day Friday thing.

Between this and my 24-70 II repair for 3-weeks now (waiting for part... CPS Gold at that!), I am only left with my 70-200 II and 14mm... Sucks! Can't wait to start getting my lenses back lol

Don't worry. Your lens will be coming on time. (Unless a non weather related delay happens ) There is currently no rain right now, it is just really windy and cold. The next chance we have rain/snow will be on saturday and by then the lens will be in your hands.

so not reading the 32 pages of this thread... for a crop user, is this lens worth the premium over a siggy 30mm 1.4 (assuming of course that the 30mm has no focus issues)

I'm a crop user and believe this lens will be worth it to replace the Sig 30 if you plan on going full frame in the future. That's my reason in buying this lens and selling my Sig 30.

I say yes.

Depends on your budget. I have the Sigma 30 but I need the 35 since I went full frame.

Is the 24-70 in your signature better than a 17-55? Is it worth the premium?

You're comparing apples to oranges. Do you need a 30mm or a 35mm?

Is the 35 a better lens? Yes. Absolutely.

Sig30 was my favourite lens on crop.
Keep in mind though this lens will be wider than the Sig30 on full frame.

Yeah when I go full frame I would use this lens for sceneary and those shots where a wider fl is needed. Then if sigma decides to upgrade their 50 into the Art line, I'd buy it and use it as my everyday walk around lens. Since my funds won't allow me to go full frame until the very very distant future, I plan on purchasing this and using it as my primary walk around lens on my 7D.

Was extremely close to buying a 35L off craigslist until I started reading more about the Sigma 35mm.

Can anyone compare the focus throw between these two lenses? Has anyone received a bad/soft copy of the lens? Little worried about the quality control of Sigma... thanks!

Sigma's main reason for revamping their line of lenses is QC. Thus far I have heard zero reports of bad copies of this lens. You have nothing to worry about.
