I hear ya, I love the 15-85 IS for walkaround but tired of its zoom creep and variable aperture for portraiture, and I like the focal length of the 24-105L on a crop...

and I'm not saying I'll give up my better kidney...

I LOVE the 24-105 and find that the purchase was worth it. I used it extensively during the holidays. While I do love primes and I do believe they force me to be more creative, I find the convenience of a zoom necessary, especially as a really expensive point and shoot :D I've also been using it for product photography and video tutorials at work... Which it is perfect for.

Hey, anybody have any experience or opinions on eneloop batteries? They seem pretty solid, and I'm looking for something to keep my flash active.

Eneloop batteries are great. Definitely recommend. I didn't use my flash for a month, turned it on and I still could use the flash with a refresh time with about a 2 second refresh. Shows you they retain their life if they're just sitting.

Likewise, I used it all for about 4 hours straight during Christmas and didn't notice a slower refresh rate over that span.

Been using them for a couple of years. Won't buy anything other than these until someone can tell me there is a better battery in town. They hold their charge while in the bag, much better than previous batteries.

I use them in everything...Xbox controllers, camera flash, etc. Great batteries.

Thanks everyone! I just ordered them. I had heard and read good things but wanted to check with those who have actual experience with them. Thanks again!

You won't regret it. Like Al and Keyan, I use eneloops in everything, and I wouldn't buy any other kind.
