Took my new 5dmark 3 out today to try sport think it did ok because the light was terrible after 20 mins it was nearly dark shot with 5d + 300.2,8 comments tips welcome

Nice series of images. The 5Dmkiii is really impressive in low light. I would rotate shot 3 to get the goal post vertical. Good timing on 6.

I think that these shots are fine.Love Number 6. Yes. it would be nice if we all could afford 400mm to get that extra reach as mentioned by bboowwyy but provided with the 300mm you do not try to take shots of action that is taking place too far away then no problem. The old maxim of shoot tight and crop tighter still holds.

I had a 7d before which i found sometimes to long im a great believer that the action will always come to you in sports on the + side you can crop the hell out of them and still have plenty mp left

I would crop tighter. There are is a lot of negative space I see in the pics.

Des, I'd be cropping to edges of ball, hands faces or feet unless there was something in the background I really wanted to show.
