So. Ready to make the plunge on a new full frame camera. Read all the reviews. Studied the findings. Checked with the talking heads at potn.
Decided that I would go with the 6d over the 5d3.
Why? Value. Same quality images for $1000 less. Easy, right?
So I head to the local shop to take my new camera through its paces. Credit cards ready to go. Shopgirl hands me a 6d to try, I put it to my eye, and......
I poked myself right in the nose.
A little background. I am severely left eye dominant. For photography, this means that I can shoot with both eyes open, relaxed with no squinting, IF my left eye is on the viewfinder. Shoot with my right, and I have close my left eye which leads to headaches over a very short period of time.
With the new control layout on the 6d, my nose literally lays on the control wheel. Without the joystick, and given the smaller size, I can't change focus points or EC WITHOUT poking myself in the nose.
In a million years I never thought I wouldn't buy a camera because of my nose. But it looks like the 5d3 for me.
To her credit, the shopgirl suggested rhinoplasty.
