Take at least one photo that I am happy enough with to try printing in something of the 20x30 range. (Haven't taken one shot yet that I feel truly happy with bothering to print at any size. Go big or go home.)

Travel to more areas around home worth capturing landscapes of, I have a few on the list, and its growing every day.

Get my home studio figured out and start using it.

Get good at Lightroom.

kozal01 wrote in post #15424138 (external link)
Mine would be to get better at PP, possibly buy lightroom if I can figure out how to use it efficiently.

I would highly recommend Chris Orwig's Lightroom series on lynda.com. I'm sure there's good stuff on kelbytraining too, but I haven't used it. There's a free trial of lynda.com but it might be hard to get through the whole Lightroom series during the trial duration.

Also, peruse the "Show your raw conversions" thread in the Raw and Post-Processing forum.

1. Start using off-camera and multiple flash units.

2. Put together a coffee table book of some of my stuff over the past few years (not with selling in mind).

3. Get at least one new lens (starting with a Sigma 35 f/1.4)

Be at the right location, at the right time.

It doesn't matter how big your camera is, it's how you use it!

I plan to take my camera out of the bag and start using it! 2012 was my worst year for photos!

All my gear was stolen by people I considered my friends and I went bankrupt as well. My resolution is to get new equipment and start doing the thing I love once more.

That's terrible, hope your 2013 is much better! :(

For me, shoot less and take better photos at the same time.

My resolution is to learn by doing...

I spend too much time reading and studying photography. I need to shoot more and learn by actual shooting.

4. learn to use off camera flash

An excellent thread to get you started (and fired up):

I saw the link above on lynda.com and will dig in there. Any other pointers on the other are hugely appreciated.

Yes, Lynda is an excellent resource! I also recommend getting one of the Lightroom "primers", books by excellent authors Scott Kelby, Martin Evening, and Victoria Bampton. People who are "new" to Lightroom and Raw processing often get a lot out of starting with the Scott Kelby book, that's my recommendation!

And, I totally endorse Nathan's awesome suggestion to check out our awesome RAW Conversion Thread:)!

Happy New Year to you all!

Hey, it's 10:30 PM here, so Happy New Year's Eve!

Mine is to get better at post processing and to stop buying so much gear.

Amen! Same here. I actually stopped buying gear months ago but haven't put time into learning post-processing. I need more practice taking shots as well.

My list:

1. Learn to shoot better with and without OCF.
2. Get a one-year subscription for Lynda.com as soon as we get our tax refund.
3. Finish reading my Lightroom book (Scott Kelby); become better at Lightroom and post-processing in general.
4. Finish reading the Speedliter's Handbook.
5. Learn some Photoshop basics.
6. Do at least one model photo-shoot, even if that means Model Mayhem (I know, I know).
7. Shoot a few landscapes.
