Question to macro users, anyone have experience with the L and Non L 100mm lens?, just wondering if the L version really is much better optically from real world use, from what I have read there doesn`t seem to be anything in it, its just IS and build quality.

Tempted to sell mine I think. Taken about 20 shots on it and it sits there in my bag.

Yeah I went for the L version and its superb, I think worth the upgrade.

Question for the PC bods.

All of a sudden my main PC seems to be having IP conflicts. Not sure why this has started at all. Its linked via a wi-fi reciever to the router.

Router > wi-fi receiver > netgear switch > PC

Dont seem to have a problem with any other deviat are that are attached. weird.

Day 1 of paternity leave, figured out which way up the baby is supposed to be held! Winner, the wife will be pleased

You may be either:

1)clashing with a nearby wireless network, change your channel number.
2)have duplicated ip address leases. You could try doing the following on your PC.

open a CMD as admin,
type ipconfig /release
type ipconfig /renew

this may help regrant your ip configuration on your PC.
3)manauly check all ip leasing on your modem and check for old devices that might be hogging ip's that your not using.
4)reboot your rooter

Ian, first stop would be to give your WHS a static IP and add a reservation for that in your router. PM me if your not sure how to do that. If the problem persists, allocate static IP's to the rest of the PC's on your network. I'm an Uber Geek and I only have 15 IP's - there's like 250 odd IP's available on a class C subnet so using DHCP is not such a benefit. <This advice is given post consuming 3/4 bottle of Chardonnay>

Sadly not

Not sure if anyone is interested - but I have a couple of camera bags I am going to put up for sale ... so if anyone would like either, let me know.

First is the small lowepro sling shot bag - the slingshot 100 AW - holds a camera, and one other lens - with the top pocket for cards / batteries etc but is only really of use for a day trip. I have only used it a handful of times, as I got given the larger version of it!

The other is a lowepro stealth reporter D650 AW which is great for longer trips when you want to take lots of stuff with you. Has pockets galore etc. I've only used it for one long haul trip so it's very nearly new!

Unusually, the display was at 12:30am and the usually noise conservative Swiss (you can't use a drill on a Sunday over here) went all out and set off crackers all through the night.
