Good to see you back on here Clare - the kittens are lovely - although I think Arthur would prefer if I did not come complete with Eau de Chien  (he hissed at me last night )!

Great firework shots Dennis :D

Hmm I changed my wifi channel as looking at wifi analyser there were cleared channels but thats not the problem. All other wireless devices are working OK. I had assigned individual IP's to all devices aswell. I think its the wireless AP I have my main PC sat behind. I'll interogate that and see.

As for 2/3 a bottle of wine JD, I seem to remember last time it was whiskey when you advised me on Macrium ;)

Ian, first stop would be to give your WHS a static IP and add a reservation for that in your router. PM me if your not sure how to do that. If the problem persists, allocate static IP's to the rest of the PC's on your network. I'm an Uber Geek and I only have 15 IP's - there's like 250 odd IP's available on a class C subnet so using DHCP is not such a benefit. <This advice is given post consuming 3/4 bottle of Chardonnay>

Lol, JD is that three quarters or three or four bottles?

Thanks for the comments guys, it was good to get out with the camera again. Off to Colmar tomorrow (Alsace region of France) so we'll see what shots I get there. Weather isn't meant to cooperate tomorrow :(

Settling in slowly over here. Language is a bit of a barrier but starting classes soon so we'll see if things improve. Spent Christmas unpacking boxes and assembling furniture but we're in our own place now which has lifted our spirits a bit. Next on the agenda is a car so we can head into Alsace, the Black Forest and the Alps when the weather improves, without relying on the excellent, but expensive, public transport.

Happy New Year folks! Seems work has lifted the blocker to the forum ... so thought I'd stop by and try and catch up. Who wants to do actual work today anyhow??

Couple of shots from me - introducing my new feline family - two 4-month old brothers from Cats Protection called Merlin and Arthur

Caterham F1 Team tasked me with creating something for their Fans/Sponsors in the way of a Christmas Card. This is what I suggested, and (rather surprisingly) got accepted

Great fun to make, will do a Behind The Scenes at some point (All created in camera).

Very nice,

Sadly I did not get anywhere near the fireworks this year. We were spoiling an illegal rave at midnight

Interesting to see the green of the Santa hat reflected in the right eye.....slightly spooky but great to see how settled he has become for and with you.

Ho Ho Ho, i'm a little late.

Haven't been on here for a little while as we've had all the family at ours over Christmas, hectic is an understatement!

Hopefully everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year?! Just wanted to share something i've been itching to share for a little while. I'm sure your all sick of Christmas now, but here goes...

The worlds fastest Christmas tree

Glückliches neues Jahr folks! A few quick photos from the Basel new year fireworks two nights ago. Unusually, the display was at 12:30am and the usually noise conservative Swiss (you can't use a drill on a Sunday over here) went all out and set off crackers all through the night. I hope the new year is treating you all well so far...

The stroke of midnight - the fireworks here are purely from the public!

A little close!

Hmmmm! was that because they could see the size of the backup squad behind you and the riot gear they were wearing ;) Trust someone elses "good time" to get in the way of you enjoying the festive season :(

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p
