Nice shot Corey. I'm super jealous about even having the opportunity to shoot one.

I'm about 100 miles south of their normal range though they have been occasionally spotted around here. Never my luck though. They're very photogenic.

Yes, the snowy owl is one of my 3 favourite birds. The other two are the eagle and the kingfisher. I need to work on my bird in flight shots. So far I have yet to get a good capture of an eagle or owl in flight and I have not even got a decent picture of a kingfisher even on a perch!

At least you have snowy owls around there. Down here this looks like it will be a warm winter so I don't expect to be finding any.

We have bald eagles around here and I'm about 2 hours east of the famous lock and dam 14 on the Mississippi. Just waiting for my current battle with the flu to finish.

We have several bald eagles here as well as several hawk species and kestrels but I'm pretty much out of commission for any of that until I get a medical issue resolved. I've become tired of shooting the yardbirds and because we're having a warm winter so far we seem to be missing a lot of the winter birds.

J&R says it will be "in stock soon" whatever that means. Nikon still suffers from the supply problem that has plagued them for almost thirty years. It must be their production policy, you would think they would figure out how many copies of each lens they need to produce. The 16-35 is continuously out of stock at authorized dealers.

I put in an order at Amazon to at least get in someone's queue. I'm sure if I take the time to search I could find one locally.

My 16-35 came in today. I can get handheld shots at 1/5 when shooting at 16mm, and get sharp images. I want to test it some more when I can get some daylight, and get outside. Looks pretty impressive so far.
