CS6 in the cloud

Is anyone using Adobe CS6 in the cloud? If so, how do you like it?

I joined about a month after it was opened up for general use. Overall I like it. I like getting the automatic updates and being able to use some of the other software as well (like the Acrobat suite). I go back and forth about the monthly price versus buying outright, but no complaints yet.

None of the Adobe software is "used in the cloud." It's only paid for in the cloud. You donwload, install, and use the products the same as always. The cloud version just phones home once a month to verify payment and re-activate the license.

If you like paying less up front and more over time for the same thing, you'll like the cloud version.

I signed up in August and I am extremly happy with it! Like others say, you just verify your subscription from time to time, quick and easy.

I pay $20/month for only CS6.........Whenever CS7 hits the market I get that instantly with no extra charge. If I bought CS6 for $700, I would have to pay $200 for the upgrade, and again $200 every 2 years. At a pace of just $20/month it will be a many years until I am paying more overall.

It's an attractive option for anyone that didn't already have CS5, but for those of us that do it's a much more costly approach ($20/mo = $480 every 2 years versus the typical upgrade cost of ~$200 every two years).

I started using Photoshop in June 2005 with CS2, using a coupon deal for $299 that came with my 20D and I've upgraded twice (CS3 and CS5) since that time, for a total cost of ~$699 + tax. If I were paying $20/month over the same time period (7.5 years) I would have shelled out $1800 + tax

It looks like Adobe are going to make it impossible to skip an upgrade, so I may need to jump on CS6 while it's still available ... either that or just stick with CS5 since I'm starting to use LR for >95% of my imaging needs anyway.

Yes, 100%, if you already own CS5, the subscription is NOT for you!

It is only a good deal if you have never owned CS before in my opinion.

If you were to upgrade to every new edition of PS, it will be around that 7 year mark that the subscription begins to get more expensive, and buying it outright would have been cheaper at that point (If the pricing policy was to stay the same that entire stretch, which I doubt it will), however for me personally I am not thinking that far into the future, I do not know what I am doing next week, let alone 7 years from now, or what new software will be around at that time.

When my subscription is up in August I am actually going to download Capture One for the free 30day trial and consider buying that, as I have heard such good things about it, if I do not like it, I will just go back to my subscription with Adobe.

My calculus is that if you use at least two or three adobe products, it pays to go cloud. I regularly use Photoshop (and never had 3D capabilities because I would buy the "base" program), Lightroom, Acrobat, and AfterEffects. Since getting it, I've been using Illustrator more. I think, frankly, if you use it, it is a huge bargain. I would never buy all the adobe programs otherwise. When you add in the other programs that I am just discovering, I feel like I'm getting a steal.

Link to cloud please. If I google PHOTOSHOP IN THE CLOUD I get tons of tutorials about creating clouds in Photoshop. I know, my GoogleFu is weak
