Or not really worry about how many shutter actuations have taken place and just go out and shoot? :lol:

Well since the thread was revived anyway...
I understand the motive behind charging; he had to actually create the software, host the website etc...

However, I won't be using the service any longer as I don't like paying for something that used to be free. Just my personal feelings.

I'm still curious as to why people are so interested in their current shutter count? I understand if you're about to sell it, then the nominal fee can simply be tacked onto your final sales price. I understand if the shutter failed and you wanted to know (without sending back to the mothership) the shutter count as to when it actually failed.

Don't use it and you won't need to pay. Free is always great for the consumer. But no one seems to give a flying rat's rear about the person and hours spent creating something that's being used.
