Next lens? $500 budget

You have a pretty big hole between 15 and 50mm so filling that hole would be the priority.

Price form lowest to highest:

Tammy 28-70
Tammy 17-50
Siggy 17-50
Canon 17-40

I'd say a Sigma 30mm 1.4 if you're into primes and don't need the zoom, otherwise, I'd say the Tamron 17-50 2.8.

Congrats. It's a nice little lens for the price, you'll enjoy it.

To keep within your budget, how about the canon EF 28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM, and get rid of the 50. -rick

How would it perform indoors though?

Own a tamron 17-55 2.8 now. Very very happy with it.

I used the EF 28-135 on my 40D, and it was my walk around lens for years until I got my EF-S 17-55, it worked great, indoors and out. My son just bought a T4i, and I let him borrow the 28-135 and he is in love with it. It's now his walk around lens, and stays on his camera. My son had a 6 month old baby, and he's getting great images of my grandson. -rick

mate if you want something indoors/low light with your budget sigma 30 1.4 is the way to go imho

you have 11-16 already so you got wide angle covered, and i would prefer it over 17-50 because with the 30mm few steps back u have 17 and few steps forward u have 50...but the 30mm will do f/1.4 for your low light needs, it was on my 60D all the time before i sold it because i went FF

and with sigma lens you better off getting aussie stock so you have your 2 year cr kennedy warranty so if needs any calibration you can just drop it in

Did have a 350D but have moved to a 60D.

The lenses I have are listed in my sig. I tried to use the 18-55 kit lens indoors not long ago and it was simply not good enough. I am wanting a lens that will be brilliant for indoors and wont suffer from not being able to go wide enough. The lens needs to be sharp as well. To be used outdoors as well.....

I am keeping it simple with my needs, I am trading the 18-55 off today with the 350D to a person entering the DSLR world (converting another person!!).

Which lens? Budget has to be as detailed.
