You'll have to ask the seller if this fits, as it works with the 7d and 1Dm4, which is similar to the 5Dm3 design

Does the eye cup go over this piece? Do you have pictures ?

I don't have time to take photos - try a google search but the aquatech eye piece replaces the original eye piece on the cameras and gives you about 1/2 to 1 inch extension from the body - the real benefit is the rubber around the extension, IMO perfect for eyeglass wearers or anyone that just doesn't want to be smashed up against the back of the camera body

here is the link to the manufacturers website for some additional info but no side photo - maybe later I put something together

Hi all
ACK this is an old thread being revived.
Is there an official eye piece extender for 5D3 yet?
I'm not worried about smudging the LCD, I just want to see the full image via view finder incl the data around it.
Thanks

Cheers

I haven't seen anything official. I haven't even seen any aftermarkets.

I modified a Nikon viewfinder to work on my Nikon D7000 before I sold it. I sold the camera and kept my mod hoping it would fit on my 5D3. It almost fits but the viewfinder on the 5D3 was just a wee bit wider. I tried to see if I can find anything else to mod and haven't found anything yet.

Was doing some Google searching and found this - http://www.amazon.com …7&creativeASIN=B008EV1FEW (external link)

Contacted the manufacturer to see if they can send me a review sample.

Are you aware that all optical eyepiece extenders work via the principle that they can move your eye away by shrinking the apparent image presented by the normal eyepiece?!

There is another thread here about 'coolest accessories' or something that mentions this extender. Based on that I bought this extender, and I like it, but there are a few things to mention. You can take it apart and remove the plastic lens inside, and it still gives 100% view and doesn't change your viewfinder focus. Also, I found it to be just slightly loose, but two small pieces of gaffer's tape as shims solved the problem. Finally, one of the tabs on the rubber portion tore and it kept slipping out of the slot. When I emailed the seller and asked if I could get the rubber part replaced, he sent me an entire new unit. Good service!

Yep. Not the most desirable. But then again, I can't see all of the image as it is (let alone the data presented on the display) as I have a big nose!!! Thus, will take a shrunk view everyday where I can see 100%
(Have one for my 60D. Made a world of difference for me)

You could always just remove the lens in the eyepiece, I've done that with the ep ex15.

It would be great if the EX15 fits on the 5D3.

I have been using the second one you list for a few months now with the lens removed from it. I love it...
