what do you use to shoot this? your flash? How is it set up? How much PP do you do? Is it cropped?

No flash, cropped, PP is Topaz with a little help from LR4. I don't have the 15-85 anymore but it gave me a lot of great images.

I was thinking exchangeing it for the 17-55 for my only lens...what do you think?

I think the 15-85 is a great lens and it never let me down and If I owned a crop again I would buy it first.

How did you get the bokeh or blurred background like this with that lens. I'm new to photography and I'd like to learn some techniques!

Focus on the foreground subject, leave enough space between your subject and the background, and use a low f/stop number.

try it....you'll like it. :)

Curious...what the reasoning is behind an 8000 SS.

The 8000 SS speed was just the last one taken, it's actually 8 different exposures the 8000 SS was taken to try to get as much detail from the sun.

Unfortunetly I forgot to stop the lens down before I did this, I was testing out the Magic Lantern HDR AEB feature. I started with the lens wide open, but I would have preferred to start with a higher f stop.
