Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She was born way early at 24 weeks, 3 days. On Friday, January 11 she will have been in NICU for three months! She should be coming home soon, hopefully in a week or two. She was born 1 lbs. 4 oz, or 570 grams! She's now ~2500 grams.

Wow, three months. But count yourself lucky that there is a NICU these days. When our twins were born, (same weight) there were no NICU units and certainly not the technology they have these days. Unfortunately we lost both.

But on a brighter note; God then blessed us with two fine boys who are now adults and have great jobs that supply enough that I can look forward to them supporting me if necessary...hehehe

My first go at self portraiture. I didn't have a remote at the time so had to rely on self timer. I've now got a remote and it's much easier.

I love the low-key look and have also been experimenting with high-key lighting too. Sadly we don't get too much sun around here so I'm struggling to find my nice big window light source. Haha

Hi chimps, that's a cool shot.

Yeah I'm loving these low-key shots at the moment. A few of my friends now have them as facebook profile pics.

This is a cool shot, if you don't mind me asking how do you focus a shot like this, especially at f/1.2? With the body away from your face. Is it live view x10 then look ahead and click ?
