Montauk Lighthouse

Erected in 1796, the Montauk Lighthouse is the 4th oldest active lighthouse in the US. I took this pic about an hour before sunrise.

Very nice! Festive lights give it that extra flavor too! I love the gorgeous green of the grass!

Thank you for the complements. Montauk in winter is one of my favorite places on Long Island. The crowds of people are gone, the waters fill with wildlife that is here no other time, and did I mention, the crowds are gone! :)

Nice capture. I've never had the opportunity to shoot it at night. And you are right about winter, best time to be on the east end of Long Island....no crowds....my family is in Mattituck on the North Fork.
