I was also looking at the trees but maybe it is just the time of year, thinking if the trees were dead due to radiation they would have all been long gone by now.

and so would the evergreen trees ...

nice trip of a bad story.
who took copter parts ??

Daaa ... I did and you said local folks for their garden.
There is major body hardware missing.
Hard to imagine locals take such Large Military Equipment
for self gratification in a socialist control people country.
There is more to this story than you eluded.

Great shots, that must a sight to see in person. It is slightly disturbing that so many of the 1500 abandoned vehicles that are radioactive (even if just slightlyi) are now missing, have to be curious where so many went. Very cool though, I would love to visit.

Unbelievable and a great read that tells us a lot more about it. So much death & destruction. That would be one exam I would not have wanted to pass!!

Amazing series! Thank you so much for sharing them and the risk and effort to get them. Love the abandoned helicopters.

Amazing photos. Would love to be able to take pictures at the actual site. I could see some interesting lit painting opportunities.

I'm fascinated by this place too.

Here is a link to a Russian girl's Chernobyl diary of sorts. She had ridden all over the dead zone and has many photos. Pretty amazing stuff.

It's fake. She has never been to Chernobyl zone on a motorbike.
