Contact Sigma here. You will need a copy of the sales receipt to prove purchase date.

Had 50 1.4, but sold it. Focusing was fine, just didn't like results wide open :(

First copy I got of my Sigma 30mm f1.4 (didn't buy from Adoroma tho). Lens looked like it was used with a lot of dust inside (supposed to be new). It had a horrible front focus issue too:

Contacted the place I ordered it from, and exchanged for another. Second copy was clean with exception of two lint specs inside that is hard to find and doesn't affect the pics. Still have a front focus issue. I sent this one to Sigma for calibrations (been great ever since I got it back [no test pics saved after getting it back]):

Just to say thank you for all the time you are giving to this; I'm logging all your details and hopefully we'll have something to report back from Sigma before too long.

I have a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 OS HSM. I've used it on a 500D, 60D, 5D and Elan 7NE with never a hint of a focus issue. I shoot it mostly from f/2.8 though f/4.

Edit: Purchased used through a private party.

10-20mm ƒ4-5.6 EX DC - No issues with this lens.
17-50 ƒ2.8 - It had a loose fitting hood which was replaced by Sigma.
50 ƒ1.4 - The lens was re-calibrated and sold. Did not use that range too much.
70-200 ƒ2.8 OS - The lens was perfect out of the box. Sold it.

I'm looking forward to owning the S35 and wish that Sigma would come out with a stabilized 400 ƒ5.6

Well I personally never bought a sigma lens due to the stigma that the focus was always off. I really despise having to send off my lens to have it adjusted. That said I really want to buy a 35 1.4 and 85 1.4 but the stigma still prevents me from purchasing.

Order one a month or two before absolutely needing it. If it's off, then send it to Sigma to have it calibrated. It's worth it if you don't want to spend the premium for the canon equivalents.

Email me: Helen@adorama.com (external link), and we can test one for you before sending out provided we have both the lens and 'your' body in at the same time. You need to be aware of - and agree to - the following:

• we cannot guarantee 100% that you will not still need to send your own body and lens off to Sigma together for re-calibration, but we are definitely finding that by carrying out these checks beforehand that we've been able to reduce significantly the possibility of this being required

• your purchase will in theory be 'open box', but we will nevertheless need to charge you the full purchase price, as we are only opening it up to provide you with this additional service

• Shipping may be delayed by a couple of days as our DC manager does this himself on request, and needs to fit it into his existing workload.
