If he did, he tried way too hard.

I am surprised that Dell has not sent the cops to this place yet.

Is $3,000 still the cut-off for misdemeanor theft to felony theft?

Depends on the state. Here in CA, anything over $950 is a felony.

Are you sure they're not just Lunars?

I find it very curious you felt the need to privately document your "unboxing."

+1

Yup. Methinks the punking is happening right here ;).

Dad and I documented my computer's arrival setting up a tripod and doing a time-lapse of me unboxing the thing. I had the whole story reported at Dell Community Forums to great success! Have you seen the amount of 'unboxing XXX item' videos you can find in YouTube? What is so weird about it... granted, you don't do it, just like most people don't photograph water droplets, yet this forum has one every three threads.

Have you considered how frustrating must have been for the OP to find that in the box, and come here and vent a little steam while still keeping a positive side to it all? Cut him a break, and keep up the jokes. He enjoys them, so do most of us... lets hope he finally gets his 5DmIII (instead of the mTree)!

Good luck MJ23FE,
Rafa.

I just don't find it amusing.

But to each their own.

Whatever.

Walk the plank!

Thinking the same thing.

I don't find it strange at all. I have "The Ritual Unboxing" videos of many purchases, the ones of my 7D, 60D and G11 I posted to Youtube because I bought them when they were first out and people were excited. Some used gear I've bought from folks here on this forum, ebay etc. has also been videoed when opened. Of course, in the back of my head has been the fear of being ripped off like this, which I fortunately never have.

I have also videoed "The Ritual Farewell" to some expensive gear, but, touch wood, fortunately nobody's so far claimed to have received a box of said matter from me...

7D and 60D, Sigma 12-24, Canons 24-105L, 100-400L, 50mm f1.4, 100mm Macro. 580EXII, Elinchrom Skyports, Eye-Fi, Apple Macs, iPhone 3GS, PS4, LR3. Socks and jeans with holes repaired.

Is this for real? Has the OP posted serial number pics from the boxes? I don't buy it.
