I'd be talking to a lawyer at this point...

IDK... They told you they'd send out another one Next Day Air the day you got it. And they still haven't shipped it. You could definitely get your money back. And since they falsely told you they'd send it you might be able to sue for damages. They're jerking you around for sure. I'd call them and tell them to either send a new one by tomorrow (might be too late for a tomorrow arrival) or refund your money tonight (don't let them tell you it will take a few days to process a refund... They got your money instantly) so that you can order another one somewhere else tonight or tomorrow...

I'd be P.O.'d knowing there is $2000+ of my money at Dell and I have nothing but floor tile to show for it.

I told them that I want to do business with them and that I want this to be resolved. You have a point about not mentioning that I want to cancel the order... but at the same time, at this point, it might not be a bad thing either. This might help me with the compensation. We'll see what happens.

They didn't price match exactly. They did come down from where they were, though.

I would simply cancel my purchase if I needed to an just owe nothing.

-Jalal

I would cancel and be done with it, and buy what you need elsewhere with a CC.

That would not be a bad idea, IF Dell failed to resolve the situation in a satisfactory manner. In other words, if they refused to remove the charge to your account and you had no other way of fighting it--which would lead to them reporting you to a collections agency and then reporting to credit agencies, which will drastically lower your credit score.

If this can be resolved with Dell, I would pursue that avenue BEFORE bringing lawyers into this mess.

I agree! I'm just curious what one would go after. That's all.

I guess it's tough at this point to ask you to read the thread. First one was wood. Second one which was shipped via next day air was wood as well. They're currently investigating.

He told me that right now, they could potentially ship me a 3rd kit, but it would be at the risk of receiving more wood. They want to make sure everything is settled at the distributor before they ship me anything. They want to make sure I get a camera.

Why don't you just tell them to open the box before shipping it to you, to make sure it has a camera in it?

OP, why don't you just get a refund and order it elsewhere?

Dell is not actually sending the thing, but sub-contracting a warehouse (or whatever) to send it, and it is apparently there that the scam is taking place... so, asking the thief to open the box in order to confirm there is a camera inside instead of wood kind of defeats its purpose, IMHO. The thief will, of course, claim that he is sending a camera.

If a full refund is an option, I believe that is the best way to go at this point... the more time that passes, the more chances you get to get stuck with the wood :( . Let Dell handle this guys, but get rid of the headache yourself!!! I don't understand why these companies insist on making the customer pay for their issues (in time, money and anguish!). They should purchase a camera at their own cost somewhere else, make sure you received it the very next day, and spend - THEY not YOU! - the next three weeks investigating the incident... not expecting YOU to wait while they investigate so you can receive a stolen product :( .

Again, best of lucks,
Rafa.
