The fall colors in Vermont this past October were spectacular. I generally find landscapes a bit boring, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try and capture these rare colors. Please tell me what you think...I can handle it!

It was a very hazy morning.

I like the first two, I think if the grass color in the first was in the second it'd be really nice, while on the first one the color on the trees feel a bit desaturated, but that is probably just because of the haze.

Thank you. The grass did show up as several different shades of green. Some of it was untouched by the cows grazing it so it turned brown. I wasn't able to keep it a uniform shade of green. The haze was the issue with the distant colors. Again, thank you for commenting.

Thank you. These were shots that I overlooked when I first processed the other raw files from that day.

Oh crap...I did notice that one needed straightening and then I totally forgot. Thanks for the reminder and the compliments.

I actually like that the trees in the first are not as saturated as 2 and 3. We get colors that pop like this in Michigan too so I could believe this is really how they look but 2 and 3 almost feel over saturated in the reds.

Nice job, this is why I stay in Michigan! :)

I agree, they do look over saturated...but they really were like that back in October. All the locals were talking about the awesome fall foliage of 2012! Some years the colors are very muted, and then some years they really pop.

And believe it or not, the leaves reflect the blue color of the sky, so a CP, Circular Polariser, can remove that blue & increase the saturation, too. try it on a close-up & you'll see the effect.

I was using a good quality CP, but I had just purchased it and didn't know what I was doing!

I did my best to straighten up one of the photos. It was hard because the buildings are old and not really level.
