Great shot Daniel. Mind sharing your lighting setup? Do you shoot with an on camera flash to help with AF?... ie, just for the AF assist? I've had trouble with AF at some receptions?

I got mine yesterday... so excited. Can't wait to start using it for real shots.
Question to you who own both this and any version of the 50mm focal length: Don't you think that these two are very close to each other in FL? Without using the 35 extensively I feel like they are redundant somehow.
I have now the 35, 50 and 135 FL-s covered and thinking I may be better off trading the 50 1.4 for the 85 1.8... I shoot people mainly.

The difference between 35mm and 50mm is massive in my opinion.
On a FF camera, 35mm is wide enough to noticeably bend the edges of the frame which is amazing for candid shots and children or emphasizing one object or subject over the rest of the frame .

Shots from the 50mm are more flat in terms of distortion, but no less 3D due to the ability to shoot at such fast apertures.

Try taking a group shot with a 35mm and then stepping back and taking the same composure with a 50mm. The difference is night and day to me.
