So is there an adhesive? To keep it on? Also does it create it hard to mount the lens? With the added resistance from the gasket?

I'd like more info too before pledging anything. It won't be very convenient if the donut keeps popping off by itself, I might as well just use a rubber band in that case. That said it is a good idea. Although the rest of the lens will remain unsealed so its at best an emergency measure or just for dust prevention.

Seems great, but I think you need to add something between the $20 for 1 ring, and the $600 experience. Not sure what your break even point is, and what the net is per ring anyway, but compared to other kickstarter projects it just feels like something is missing there. Yes I know you can just contribute in increments of $20, but you can also add other ways to increase funding via different pricing structures.

Seriously.. You need this. This thing will blow up if you make a red version. People are just that crazy. (Just make sure the reds match, or else you'll have a !#(@-storm on your hands).

Why do pledge amounts "sell out"?

It's not really spam. And it's in the right section.

Yes it is spam when it's your first post and marketing is the theme.

do L lenses also have some kind of dust/weather sealing in the barrel or body of the lens and not just the mount area?
