50L can be "sharp". But when I compare it to my 24 and 85, the 50 is the least sharp of the bunch.

But I knew that going in and I like the photos taken with it and that's what matters.

the first copy i got was fuzzy, B&H changed it for me and i couldn't be more happy... if its exposed correctly its razor sharp at 1.2

had some copys of the 1.2L coming and going the last few years, and i just can't say that i had a razor sharp one. they were all pretty soft wide open. i like 50mm and for me the L is still my favorite of the bunch, i like how it renders and the bokeh is just sweet... the 50L isnt known for it's sharpness, and that's just because there are sharper lenses out there.
