I am leaving my 5D3 at home and bringing om-d with 2 lenses (9-18 and 12-35) and fl-600r flash. I think I will enjoy traveling lighter this time. The whole setup fits into a hadley small bag with enough room to spare for an ipad and travel documents. I hear ya. I purchased a similar set-up for upcoming travel in Costa Rica. I will still bring the 1 series for surf action photography though. ww.mattlucasphotography.com

I have the X100s on order so I need to (quickly) decide which body to keep (GX1, EPM2, GF3) and which lens to keep (15mm, 17mm, 20mm). I'm thinking it'll be the epm2 and 17mm but I can still return the emp2 which makes it easier that way. I see no reason to keep the 20 once I've compared them. But yeah, I'm curious to see if I'll want to stay with MFT now or go to the X100s in March. I'm borrowing a X100 starting this weekend so I can at least play with it again and see how I feel with them side by side... Tomorrow night can't come soon enough. My Gear List

I have many days where I think about downsizing my DSLR rig for these smaller systems. One problem is that there's just too much choice!

I like the feel, I like the focal length, it seems sharp enough. AF hasn't blown me away when comparing it but it seems better when just shooting it (kids in lowish light). The MF switch is cool but MF is electronic and lags ever so slightly (it works and it's a half turn lock to lock but it's not mechanical). I plan on shooting it all weekend as my only lens on one of the 2 cameras above when I climb mount washington so hopefully I get some fun shots with it there. Stay tuned. I need to pick ONE MFT body and ONE lens soonish so I need to get to testing a make up my mind. I will say if I keep the 17mm (which I will if it's faster AF wise with the kids) then the camera MUST be the EPM2 to fit in the pelican I want it to go in. The lens is just enough long enough it won't fit in the box lens "up". The hotshoe has to be "up" and the GX1 is just too tall to fit... My Gear List

I didn't think they'd depreciate so quickly. The E-M5 price really hasn't dropped much at all yet through legitimate sellers. I think it was $1000 at launch, and after the current $50 discount expires tomorrow it will still be $999 at B&H. There have been a couple of small sales and deals with lenses, but compared to other cameras (m4/3s especially) the price has been very stable.
