Great shots ! I have to take a try at some street photography, my new 70-200 should make it fun ! Just need to get the nerve to shoot strangers.

You don't shoot "street" with a 70-200. You do it 50mm or preferably even wider. :)

I know I was pushing it with the Vancouver 'burbs but this isn't even in Canada is it?

Is that SFU in Surrey? I got stopped at the door with my camera when it first opened.

Yes the last 2 shots are of SFU Surrey. Strange I had no problem but it was about a year after opening.

I used to use my 16-35 and my 24. Then I went Leica and used a 28.

Here's a link to what used to be the most viewed thread in the Urban Life section on POTN. Seems that most of the shooters have moved onto other things as it's pretty much dried up.

You can shoot with whatever the hell floats your boat dude. I prefer the longer distances when shooting random people. It's a lot less intimidating and less rude too.

That's actually creepy. I like to call it voyeurism.

I like a longer lens on the street too.. You keep out of peoples faces, and I like the flattened perspective as well.

Oh right, because shooting closer removes any creepiness of shooting people that you have never met.

I'm not sure if I had posted these before. Forgive my indulgence, I just miss Lower Mainland so much.

Nice shot Canajun. I'd miss the lower mainland as well if I had to move to Alberta. That's some cold weather there right now!!!
