Few days ago, my friend came to me and said:"Hey, I got an idea, I want to be a sniper". So me and him we decided to action right in the afternoon. He was modelling and I was taking pictures and setting up the light. All the shots was did on location, only 1 more additional flash with umbrella. And this is what we made:

#1. Investing the scene

I'm sure it's just me, but in light of the killings that seem to occur almost daily......I don't at all care for your theme here. It's actually damned tasteless.

I don't see how these images are any worse than most of the movies out today. I won't say I love them, but they were well technically and artistically done well. All you have to do is turn your TV on most any night and see much worse. I'm not a fan of what is on TV either, I'm just saying that people seem to turn a blind eye to what is on TV or in movies today and yet react negatively to a staged image, and I find it rather odd.

Following the target with shades on seems odd to me.
The beanie with clear white letters wouldn't be my choice if I was a sniper.
But the lack of sniper experience on my side might be part of that.
Other than that the pictures do tell a story.

+1

yes, this stuff is on TV also, but that doesn't make it right. Besides, how can one really complain and make a difference to TV networks?

I like the idea, 2, 3, and 7 are cropped to close IMHO. In number 5 I would like the focus on the end of the scope and not the adjustment dial.

Number one is awesome, but clone out that thing in the right side of the photo, it looks like anose

I think this is a pretty cool set. It looks like you guys were trying to make it look like he was an operative or something. In that light, I don't think it is tasteless at all.

Like the set, only advice toss the shades aside for aiming shots. Others could take a chill pill they are pictures, I am in the process of setting up a couple shoots featuring my guns :) cant wait.

To me all the pics seem to be as sun is setting, not that bright out. But then #6 seems like right in the middle of the day. Ban taking pics of guns

i like the pictures. The beanie throws it off a bit. Great shots though. On the subject about the guns I'm personally not offended. It is not like your shots hint at you shooting kids. With today's media and the amount of stuff you can find on the internet your photos are the last on the list of problems. Who cares anyways by the end of our president's last term we won't have a 2nd amendment so everyone will be happy by then.

The photos are well done...It is not the pictures of a gun that bother me, it's the idea of a sniper in a metropolitan area that I find disturbing.

It bothers me that 'I want to be a sniper' prompted a photo shoot rather than a trip to a counselor, BUT, with that being said, the rest of the set doesn't touch the first one. I would leave that one by itself - it looks like he could be a vigilante or something instead. Very few people will look at a shoot that glorifies a non- military or law enforcement sniper and think, 'cool!'.

I did an in studio shoot with a model and my boyfriends .45 and M4 two days ago (he's former military with 5 tours in Iraq under his belt, and is currently a police officer), so I get it. I just think you may want to modify your storyline to make it a bit more palatable. And do more shots like the first one.
