Just received one secondhand. Please can anyone confirm if a dead straight line on the housing where the tripod mount goes is normal? I can see line as per attached image.

Normal. There's one on the other side as well (180 degrees). I do notice that one line is thicker/darker than the other on mine.

Same with mine, one side is less visible.

It's a plastic barrel, except the frontmost section.
