Moral of the story: buy cameras from Amazon instead

This just arrived in my inbox...

Yeah I got a similar message when I ordered mine. Apparently they do that whenever you order a high-value item straight from amazon--though they didn't do that a year ago when I ordered a 5d2.

They were very prompt in dealing with a return/exchange when I was not happy with the condition my first 5d3 arrived in (minor scratch on the LCD).

Kudos to the OP.

He has maintained a level of maturity throughout all the accusations in this thread that would have caused many to digressed into a pre-adolescent tirade.
I raise my glass to you, and to your much awaited new camera!

These might be a little dark. I didn't think to mess with exposure. I just adjusted the WB a bit. SoC

Jalal, my only fault with the above is the subtle grain. Seems to have some rooted in near the center. Congrats on finally getting the rig, hope you didn't get all sappy when you finally got the box opened.

Congrats! You'll love the camera! Did it come from Dell then or did you order from somewhere else?

Came from Dell. The distribution center checked the box before they shipped it. This one did not have the circular sticker on the flap either, and show no signs that there was one. I bet you the thieves added them once they swapped the contents.

Thanks!

Nice photos, that is a great camera, almost as good as the Pentax K-5.

If you (or a buddy) has any woodworking skills, may I suggest that you put the, errr, previous deliveries, to good use and build yourself a small cabinet to keep the 5D in when you're not using it :D

Camera, some lenses, too little time, too little talent

My thoughts exactly.
Congratulations, Jalal, on finally receiving your 5DIII.
