Hi guys.
This thread had inspired me to purchase my very first dslr camera on the weekend - went straight for the 6d + 24-105l lens kit.

I’ve got a couple of jpeg Auto shots I would like to upload onto this thread, though how to I go about doing this due to the large file size?.

Hallo there, this weekend i plan to purchase a 6d but there are some issues, which bother me in this camera.
A representative of a Canon Europe during 6d presentation while giving an interview (http://www.youtube.com​/watch?v=xez3iLe_eko) and comparing the camera with mark III mentioned about durability of 6d. I do understand that these two cameras are hard to compare as they belong to different price and interst groups, but still it's quite interesting question - the durability of 6d. Is it made worse than mk III ? And what about shuter system, does anyone know ? Canon says about 100k shots for the 6d and 150k dor mk III. Is it just a marketing move to show the differance and justify the price differance ? Anyway, i really hope that 6d is a durable camera for everyday non-extreme use

It's pretty damn durable. magnesium housing with plastic top/bottoms (because of the wifi). and it's weather sealed. I wouldn't go kicking it around a soccer field, but for everyday normal use, you should be just fine. and 100k shots is what the old MKII was rated to and I've seen those things shoot for ages!

What ISO is that? They look clean. I am thinking about getting that lens but not sure if I should save up for the 2.8 IS II instead

I love my 6D so far. I got it for stills, but out of interest, is it possible to auto-focus while shooting video? I can't seem to find anything in the manual.

iso-8000. I plan on getting me a 70-200 2.8, I have slight hand trimmors, so the extra stop and image S. Would be a big help to me. I had to clean them up in LR4, these are not straight out of camera, but it was easy to clean them. The F4 non-is is doable, but just barely, you would be better off with 2.8 & or IS.

New to the forum but planning on upgrading my 400D to a 6D at the start of Feb. Interesting thread.

Great thread guys, just pulled the trigger on a 6D and a Sigma50 1.4 for an upcoming trip to europe!!! CAN NOT WAIT Untill I get my hands on the new gear Monday... Time to download the manual!!
