this is a strongly pattern-driven composition... have you considered B&W for it? The colors you chose work well together so it doesn't NEED the conversion, just wondering if you played with it.

Actually, I shot this at various exposures, with some + and - EV so I could test out the single-shot HDR in my software. This was a single shot RAW file that I split into 3 images, with +/- 2 EV, then combined with HDR blending. I was mostly interested in how well I could bring out the patterns in the wood fence, and the much darker details inside the window. I was happy with the result. I don't think anyone is really interested in a print of this subject. I will look at using a B&W output to see what it brings out . . .

Thanks!

Not much to choose from this week since battling the flu has occupied the bulk of my time. Did manage to take in some junior basketball at the beginning of the week...

Ah! When I say editing I refer to going through my photos and picking which ones are the best! (or the best of the worst ;))

Heh, this is so true for me, too. A lot of times I have to force myself to wait an hour (or a day) before posting what I think I love, because it's not that it's a great shot, it's just that I've been staring at something for too long so I've gotten used to it. :D

Having a mental debate right now between using today's photo for my 52, or waiting to see if I get anything better in the next couple days. I really LIKE today's photo, and it certainly meets my personal project goals of being a trying/learning experience, but on the other hand maybe something even better will come up tomorrow. . . .

Hello everyone. Well I have been doing this for month now. Found this thread and will be posting saturday night this weeks. I prefer the 52 to the 365 as family life and work sometimes keeps me away from the camera.

DavidR, that deep blue water in your week 3 photo is beautiful, makes a great background for the bird.

Yep, yesterday's photo it is for this week's project. Which is OK, as I like yesterday's photo, and it continues my theme so far of long exposure/tripod, plus this time I added "play with filters!" :D

Week 3
QUOTED IMAGE

Nice!! Like the framing of this one.

Still have to pick my week 4 picture ... must say, there is no way I would have been happy with a 365 project had I been doing it this year. I start work every day at 5:30 and sometimes even have things to do after 2 when I get off ... and the sun still sets early. I guess I would have just have had to put in a lot more effort. As it is, my Pete project is at a standstill :(
