I really appreciate the POTN community and everyone's willingness to provide advice. It's very much appreciated.

I was almost at a decision point and now have many different, but great, options. Especially as a new convert from Nikon, I can't tell you how I appreciate your help.

eBay has wired and wireless remotes for $2 from china if you're willing to wait 2-3 weeks.

Order a few, the odd wireless one doesn't work (could be battery), but you get what you pay for.

But hey, it's just a couple bucks!!

If you've ever had experience with the Nikon OEM intervalometer, then you'll be very familiar with the Vello Shutterboss as the UI is basically the same. The ergonomics and UI are very well implemented.

Welcome to Canon. Honestly, the best part about being a Canon shooter, are these forums. What brought you here from Nikon?

Welcome to Canon. Honestly, the best part about being a Canon shooter, are these forums. What brought you here from Nikon?

Several things:

The great selection of reasonably priced lens Canon lens
The POTN community for learning and photo sharing
I was ready to upgrade and the choice was between the 5DM3 and the D800. I loved the images rendered by both, but the 5DM3 ergonomics and smaller file size were the deciding factors.

I've been pleased on all three points.
