Jan 24, 2013 13:58 | #1970 A different type of panorama. This ended up being a 7 shot image at over 56.6 megapixels. There are a few focus issues as the DOF falls off on certain frames but overall there is tons of detail in the image. ![]() 56.6 Megapixels ![]() ![]()

CallumRD1 Senior Member ![]() More info | I have a slightly different panorama. I spent an afternoon trying to make a gigapixel photo of just about anything. I ended up using my T3i and 55-250 at 250, an off camera flash on manual power for consistent exposure, and nearly 80 JPEG photos to make this photo of my skis. I used manual focus and f/11 and there is only one place where the focus is obviously off, and that is under the break where there is a 2 inch gap in one frame, far larger than I could keep in focus at f/11. It took 2 hours to stitch the photos (JPEG not RAW) and export to JPEG and ended up at 818.7 megapixels and 3.05GB. I don't know where I can upload a 3 gig photo, but here is what it looks downsized to web resolution. I am constantly impressed looking at it. I can zoom in on the image and see the faint surface scratches on the plastic and the brush strokes from the sharpie "D" on the tip.

Now that I'm getting all the cobwebs dusted off the corner, I was struck when I saw this thread about Panoramas, since I just put a new collection on my site. Thanks for looking. Gary Crabbe

I've climbed to this point myself years back. This certainly brings back great memories. I plan to head to Devil's Lake State Park this fall when the maples turn. Thanks for sharing your image. Love shooting here. Nice pic! My Flickr
