Am I the only one who prefers to the look of 135mm over 85mm? I find that often the BG compression of the 85mm is a little too much or not enough. That or I am just a big fan of my 35/50/135 combo.

^^ Just sounds like somsone that doesn't own both the 135L & 85LII :)

I love both lenses, but nothing compares to the 1.2 aperture. Hard to compare 2.0 to 1.2 but above the 2.0 I still like the performance of my 85LII personally.

I know all about 1.2... gotta 50L didn't you know :) I gotta admit, the 85L is one sexy piece of glass, but I've been doing without it for a while and the longer I go, the more I think I don't need it.

Sure 85 is the length where you can get full body without being too far, and headshot without being too close. That makes it the best length from a photographer/model comfort perspective, but doesn't mean it's the best looking length right? Hey don't get me wrong, I'd take it if someone wanted to give it to me :)

There's always the Sigma 85mm f1.4 that is the best wide open. It's a bargain.

I find that the 135L is really best for people, not things. When I go walk around, I got a lot more interesting picts when I mount my S35mm but when I go to crowdy downtown, the 135L suddenly come alive. I wish I had 2 ultra light full frame bodies for both lenses.

Canon 6D | S35mm f1.4 | 135mm f2 The rest: T3i, 20D, 15mm f2.8, 15-85mm, 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8, 90mm f2.8 macro, 55-250mm.
So long and thanks for all the fish

I just got this lens a few days ago, actually second copy, my first sounded like it was dropped in the sand or something. So far I am really enjoying it.
