I currently use center pinch caps from Fotodiox - they fit and work great. Not sure I want to "invest" in Canon OEM center pinch caps now that I already have the Fotodiox ones, but nice to see Canon finally catching along.

Who am I kidding, I will be getting Canon's center pinch caps for all of my lenses eventually.

Priced between $10 and $15.

I was disappointed when my new 24-70mm II didn't come with a long-ago announced center pinch cap. Edge pinch lens caps are the worst.

After this, hopefully Canon will give us filter access holes in the hoods, a la Pentax.

$10-15 for a genuine one, vs. $2-4 for a eBay pinch cap with the Canon name...hmmmm

I have the yongnuo ones and they're better than canons OE side pinch ones and a million times better than the generic Chinese pinch type. I usually score them for $1 each on ebay since no one bids on them :D

Except for the 22 and 18-55 for my EOS M, all my Canon lenses with pinch caps have Tamron's. The 43 mm pinch cap that the EF-M 22 mm takes is readily available.

Just wondering... what's the difference between the different Pinch caps?

I mean $2 ebay special vs $15 genuine. Is there any 'risk' with the $2 ebay jobs, or do you pay nearly 8 times for the satisfaction that it's better quality.... plastic that does the same job? (And get the satisfaction that it's still $2 cheaper than the equivalent Nikon one :) )

I can't believe you all are so worked up about lens caps. I can't remember the last time I used a lens cap.

It's probably like all other canon accessories. Better quality at a price. Whether its worth it is up to you.

I bought some of those and they don't fit worth a damn. They were molded lopsided or something.
